I signed up with this company and attempted to transfer my domain name to them as well as my hosting services. I tried for over 2 weeks to get my domain transferred and each time I emailed, called or tried the online chat, I spoke with the same person, Patrick, and was told that he would look into it and help me and get back to me but he never did.
I submitted a request to cancel my account on June 29th as they offer a 30 day "no questions asked" money back guarantee and I was getting billed from my old provider as well as 818hostings and 818domains. My original email to cancel went unanswered. I then sent an additional 3 emails to cancel and each time I would get a repsonse back stating that I should just get a new domain name and they could host it or that if I gave them my login info to whoever was currently hosting, they could get in and transfer it manually.
I continued to call them, email and do online chat to attempt to get my acocunt cancelled and they would not cancel the account. My credit card got charged again and then I threatened to contact my card company for unauthorized use if they didn't cancel and stop charging me. I received nasty emails back still with no confirmations that my account was cancelled.
When they finally emailed me back acknowledging my cancellation request, it was one day past the 30 days and then stated that I could not be issued one because it was past 30 days. I have all the emails and correspondence from them stating that I did cancel within 30 days but they wouldn't email back until after that time went by.
They STILL would not cancel my account. I threatened to dispute the charges with my card company and they told me to go ahead and do so. I did and let them know and STILL they did not cancel my account or credit me.
FINALLY, after about 20 or so emails I got confirmation that they cancelled it, and refunded me and that they were going to report the whopping $13 dollars that I was being refunded to collections!!!
Here is their email "Yes I am confirming that your account has been cancelled. You can cancel your fraud request with your credit card company, I have gone ahead and refunded the amount back to your credit card. Furthermore I have reported the amount owed to collections which, if not paid, will negatively effect your credit rating. If you would like to stop the collections process please let us know and we'll arrange payment."
This company should be avoided at all costs as obviously they are a scam and do NOT give them your credit card as they will continue to charge and charge and then report you to collections for money they are basically "STEALING"!!! BEWARE and AVOID!!!
I work in the credit industry and part of my benefits include attorney representation and you can bet I will be using them for this. It's not the money obviously, it's the principal! Besides, who knows how many others are having the same issue with this company and how much are they making off people who don't want to fight it. This is just outrageous!!!
