Ecently I placed an order from the Brookstone website, subsequently I noticed a charge of $7.00 on my credit card from ReservationRewards.com. I called the company and questioned the charge, they responded that I had signed up for their service through Brookstone. They agreed to cancel the monthly membership charge but would not refund the current charge. I contacted Brookstone and was advised that this was not part of their website and that they do not participate with this company. Brookstone further indicated that it was probably a "pop up" that resulted in this transaction.
Since I have a pop up blocker installed on my computer and am VERY experienced in the world of E-Commerce, I am certain that this in not the case. The only way they could get my credit card number for the charge is for them to have a link to the secure server handling the financial transaction.
This is a real rip-off.
