Premier Premium Communications
Internet billing scam modem hijack

Yep, I got the same phony bill as everyone else, for $175 in my case. After reading a lot of your posts on this site (thanks, everybody!), I replied to PPC via email. Here's what I wrote:

To whom it may concern:
This is in response to a fraudulent invoice I have received from your company for $175.00. I did not authorize the downloading of software onto my computer, and did not dial an overseas number or visit any pay-per-view websites. I will not pay this amount that you say I allegedly owe.

I know that this is fraud and a scam. I have lodged complaints with the FTC and usacomplaints.com, and will follow up with complaints to USPS for mail fraud, the FCC, FBI, BBB, the California Attorney General, the New Hampshire Department of Justice, the Texas Department of Justice, the Utah Department of Justice, and all three credit reporting agencies.

If this is turned over to a collection agency, and my credit is in any way damaged because of this fraud, your company, and each of you as individuals, will be sued for damages. I expect full credit to my account promptly. If I cannot get any additional unauthorized charges cleared on my phone bill, you will be responsible for those charges as well. I am further demanding that you place a block on my line from any further charges being assessed by your company.

We'll see what happens...
