About a month and a half to two months ago, I was turned onto a television commercial that I thought presented an excellent opportunity. Get a brand-name computer financed regardless of your credit history. To me, that was good to hear since my credit wouldn't allow me finance a computer normally.
So I called and took them up on their offer. The representative told me it generally takes about a week or two after the initial $99 down payment to process and ship the computer. According to my bank statement, my $99 was taken out on the 13th of October. Today is the 27th of November and not only have they drafted from my account for a second time, but I still don't have a computer.
I have attempted to call customer service, but that generally ends up the same way everytime. Here are the outcomes I get from trying to call:
Outcome A) I am told that the company has received an overwhelming response to their ad, and that their is a delay on processing. Then they will say "Hold on while I check with a supervisor to see about your order status." Then they put you on hold - uh oh... Are they still there? Yeah, thats right - they never come back on the phone, and during the hold time there is a 30 second smooth jazz music loop that plays over & over... So you get sick of hearing it, or you gotta go & you hang up.
Outcome B) You call and there is a pre-recorded greeting that says something along the lines of 'Thanks for calling Blue Hippo Funding. We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls. Please try your call again later'. Then it disconnects you without offering to hold on for a rep.interesting thing is you only get this message when calling up the customer service line, but try calling the number where they process the orders, and those lines are always opened up with operators standing by.
The last I was told from a rep was that my PC would be shipped soon because I was done with processing. That was about 2 weeks ago. I think their job is to ensure customers that things are being taken care of so that consumers have faith not try to close their account which is prohibited by Blue Hippo according to them. Your payments are also "non-refundable". This is ridiculous. It's obvious that this company isn't legit, especially is customer satisfaction isn't practiced by them.
It is also stated that Blue Hippo can change your account status without your knowledge including but not limited to changing your finance interest percentage, changing your payment due date, etc.
You are also not allowed to file legal claims against them whether it's by means of an individual suit, or involved with a class action claim. This isn't stopping me. I am consulting with an attorney within the week regarding this issue. It's really getting irritating dealing with them. Their agreement covers just about everything to the point where they can steal from you and you have no power or right to do anything about it.
Help put this mainstream business out for good and pay the consequences for their actions against people already hurting financially.in closure, this company is a fraud, and not to be trusted. Oh yeah, and for some reason, at least for today (27th of Nov), their website is down.
Action against this company NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW!!
