A representative (Andy) for Body Plex of Elberton came to my work place to get teachers to sign up for the grand opening. After speaking with him, he assured me I would be able to cancel within 7 work days with no problems.
I had told him I was very reluctant but he continued to assure me. I signed up my son and myself. The 4 work day, I called and left a message for Andy, plus I explained my position. The next day, I called again... Nothing... No returned call. I explained in the message I did not want "Andy" to deposit my check because I was not going to be able to join. No returned call!
I went by Body Plex three times no one was there! I called again, got an employee by the name of "Summer" and asked her if anyone had gotten by messages. She said no one had received any messages that she knew of. She told me I would need to come to Body Plex. I stressed my position to her and asked her to make sure that my check would not get deposited.
I went by Body Plex the next day. I was told by a representative to call a number and he gave me a card. I called this number. I was given the run-around. I called again the next work day and was told they could not serve me regarding cancellations and I need to go to Body Plex to cancel.
I went back to Body Plex. Another representative told me I had NOT left any messages and he said he knew this for a fact! We went back and forth a while so I told him I wanted to speak with the owner. He called Allen Childs. Allen took my number and told me he would call me back. HE NEVER DID.
I went the next work day, I told Allen I wanted to cancel and refreshed his memory regarding my situation. I also reminded him (politely) he did not called me back as promised.
This time, I had about 4-5 representatives (including Allan) giving me the run-around. I told him that I had done everything I was supposed to do to properly cancel my membership. Very rude and demeaning! He told me my phone records would not prove anything. He was determined not to let me out of my contract no matter what proof I had.
Body Plex has continued taking 2 regular payments per month out of my checking acct. Most, if not every time, I have been charged for bounce protection which all equals to about $110 per month for a membership I cannot utilize!
Please help me. I have heard many negative things about this crew running this particular Body
Plex. I cannot afford this and my and son and I just cannot go to Body Plex at this time.
