First let me say that I have been using International Drug Mart, located in India, for years and have been very pleased with their service and products up until now.
I received an order of a long-acting form of Metformin.By definition such a medication dissolves slowly as it passes through the body. My product is a tablet so compressed that it passes undissolved through my body releasing little or no medication. This is a fairly common risk in pill making which requires testing to uncover.
The pill cannot be split manually and only can be "opened" by chewing (awfully bitter) or with a hammer. I did a common acid test, placing the pill in a glass of water with a teaspoon of citic acid. 24 hours later it had not dissolved at all, but I was able to split it manually. I left the two halves in the water for 4 days and they still had not dissolved at all.
I complained to the company twice online and was assured automatically both times that they would answer me within 24 hours. Days later, they have not. I do not like telephone contact or I would have called them, but their online contact option should be adequate and I am being ignored.
Since I have no recourse, I am chewing my pills until I receive a substitute supply.
