My wife had a massive toothache, so we went to Smile Care, in Mission Hills, CA. On Sepulveda Blvd. They said that besides a root canal, my wife needed some deep cleaning, and some other stuff done. The total would be over $5,000.00, IF we did everything they suggested. If. Our dental insurance pays $1,500.00, max. Smile Care gave the Chase Health Advance pitch and the 24 month, no interest sounded good, for the balance of $4,000.00, that our insurance did not cover. Later, she decided to just get the root canal done, which is about $1055.00. Great. Our insurance will cover that. A few days later, we get a bill from Chase Health Advance with a balance of more than $4,000.00, with a payment of $182.36! That's a charge for work Smile Care never done! Tomorrow, my wife and I get to have the pleasure of going back to Smile Care to get a copy of their itemized invoice, to date and have them reverse their charge to Chase Health Advance. After all, the work they have done to date is less than $1,500.00, which my insurance overs. Smile Care AND Chase Health Advance should be ashamed of themselves for trying to take advantage of people! Avoid Smile Care at all costs!
