After my first massage, I was hit with a hard sell of a membership while still vulnerable. I signed up for a membership after the hard sell, something I normally would never do. After my second massage, I discovered that there were extra fees involved: first the pressure to tip 20% is enormous, no matter what you think of the massage; second they wanted another $10 to apply my membership fee for 2 months ($90) to a facial ($49); thirdly they wanted another $10 to apply my membership fee to my husband for one massage, as a "transfer fee". This was when I had $180 on my credit from not wanting to go back there. Finally, my massage therapist hurt her elbow and has been off for 2 months, but they won't let me cancel my membership.
