In October of 1998 Dr. Jack Shimko operated on my left foot and ruin my life forever. I can no longer work on the job I had before the surgery, nor can I work the hours I worked before. I am lucky to be able to work 5 hours a day, which has made it almost impossible to keep up the payments on the medical bills I have due to this surgery. He thought I had a bunion and it turned out to be a bone problem which he tried to remove part of the bone, this he should not have done. I believe he should have closed the incision up and referred me to an orthropedic doctor. I was only suppose to be out 2 weeks at the most, and it turned out I was out of work for 6 months. I am back at work but not on the job I did before nor can I work the hours I worked before. I am in constant pain and am under the care of a doctor for this. I receive painful injections in my foot that enables me to work on it for awhile. I have had physical therapy numerous times, which did no good. As far as what I think I should get as compensation, there is not enough money in the world that would cover all the pain and suffering I have gone through. I do have a lawyers name, but have not contacted him, wasn't really sure what to do. I have gone through so much the past year and a half, I was afraid of messing up again. I hope this report will help someone else if they have any intentions of going to this Doctor. Take my advice, seek other options.
