We initally went to Dental Works to have my son's teeth cleaned, inthe process we were told he needed X-rays, cleaning, cavity filings and 4 extractions. Ok the total for all but extractions were around $1700.00 and he would have to see a Orthodontist for his gum disease. The problem began when we were told they would need to see him every week, to clean left side, then the next visit right side, and the same with the filings, that made it 5 visits including a 6 week cleaning and then he would get his lifetime cleaning which he would be fitted to during that time. I explained to them that we have 5 children and they all have had filings, extractions and cleaning all in one sitting why is this such an extensive process. We were told that by law that is the way that is to be done. I have never heard of such a thing and if so someone better tell the insurance company that only allows the yearly requirements. We are very unhappy at how this business is ran. I am a Medical Biller, Coder and Retired Nurse and have had my teeth cleaned many times and this is a first for me. Can this be explained by someone who has professional knowledge for Dentist?
