I went to get my teeth cleaned new to Frisco and all, I follow the first sign. No problem getting in. I am very forward and said, I just want my teeth cleaned no bells and whistles. Do you take my insurance? The reply was don't worry we offer a free first cleaning and visit if it doesn't. The hygentisit checks my teeth and takes some x-rays. Then a professional sales person comes out with a piece of paper outlining the things I will have to have done, starting with two root canals and crowns, then I will have to have a deep cleaning. That deep cleaning will be about $1200. I said well I would just like my teeth cleaned the regular way today, thanks for the information. They refused because they said it was unenthical to clean my teeth the regular way if they knew I needed the deep cleaning. The wanted me to begin some of the work that day. I left and called another dentist.
I called my insurance company and they said that they had paid Six Day Dental for X-rays, so I went to Six Day Dental to pick them up. The girl at the counter said she couldn't release them because I owed her $140, I said that she was paid by the insurance company and I wanted them. After throwing an ALL OUT fit in the office the dentist pulled me in the back room and gave me my x-rays.
So thank god I went to my dentist up north, who cleaned my teeth and told me that my gums were normal for my age. He then replaced two fillings that had cracked instead of giving me a root canal. All of this work costs about $50 out of pocket.
Make no mistake they are running a business. I would guess there are people there working on commission, they were all on board together. I think this business should be forced to close it's doors and the participating dentists should have there licenses taken away for being unethical.
