On December 21 I took my wife to the emergency room with very low Platelet count. We arrived at the emergency room at approximately 1:30 PM. My wife's platelet count was 8000 and anything less than 12000 is considered to be critical. We were in the emergency room for about 5 and 1/2 hours and she never received any treatment to correct her platelet level, she received 1 saline IV and recieved no futher treatment until she was admited to the hospital.in total it took over 7 and 1/2 hours to actually recieve any treatment for her platelets.
