I was ill with diverticulitis and went to the emergency room for the pain. I was given medicine to take when I got home.
The next day I took the medicine and got violently ill. So much more ill than the day before with vomiting and diahhrea, that I feared for my life.
Upon arriving at the emergency room again, I was told that the staff neglected to tell me how and when to take the medicine. I was not suppose to take the medicines close to one another which causes my reaction and dehydration.
The hospital is charging over $800 for this second visit. I have appealed to the hospital and they responded with a form letter that simply stated, "I got good care at their hospital."
In other words, a hospital can do whatever they want to you and bill you for it. If I had not decided to return to the hospital on the second day, I could have died.
