I was moving in 2006 and thought that it would be a good time for a lift. I researched as much as I could on the internet about lifestyle lift. At that time there wasn't any information concerning any bad results. There is a website that I am now convinced that is owned by Lifestyle Lift touting good results and compliments. I now know that my lack results are shared by many patients. One of the comments on this website says that you are ushered in and out a back door is true. They are aware that if their new victims hear the results of previous patients they will loose them. I went back to New Jersey to voice my opinion about not getting any results from my surgery and I was in a room with two other patients that had as many complaints as I had. They were also trying to get some form of remediation. I was seen by my surgeon Dr. Vijay Sharma (who has since been transferred to Miami at the end of 2006). He said that my results were typical and that my skin tone accounted for the jowling that was still present. I was assured by the salesperson on my first visit that I was a prime candidate and would most likely get excellent results. I complained about the stitches that were in my neck and around the backs of my ears. They poke out and hurt. It is now 2010 and my stitches still poke out and wake me at night when I sleep on my side. He told me that since he was moving to Miami with the company that I could go to the office in Denver and get the problems resolved for and operating room fee of $500.00.
I foolishly went to the office in Denver to get some help. The doctor in Denver (Dr. Rodrigo Martinez) said that there was nothing he could do for me and that I looked very good for my age. I pressed on and was then told that they were very busy and could not do anything for me for six months. I told him I would call for another appointment when I got my vacation. I called to schedule an appointment for surgery and was told that I could not schedule and appointment for surgery without another appointment with the doctor. When I got my appointment with Dr Martinez I was told that it would be $2,500.00 and that because I was taking an asprin type medicine that he would not operate on me for at least six weeks. My vacation was already in place at that time and I could not get the time off six weeks later. I understand the medication problem but he did not want to operate on me at all. I have not gone back and hope that this will help someone considering a Lifestyle Lift to forget about doing this with them. I have since been seen by another doctor and was told that nothing was done to lift my jowls or eliminate the nasal labia lines. I paid $4,000.00, plus an examination from my general practioner, for pain and aggravation.
The doctor in Denver also said that I needed a chin implant and that liposuction could be done. None of this was mentioned in my initial consultation in New Jersey. I feel that it was a way of getting more money. When I look at their advertising photos now I am convinced that these patients had additional surgery other than the lift that they perform for $4,000.00. You will sign something that says that they will not guarantee any results. That alone should have alerted me.
I still look the same with my natural aging kicking in. I can't afford any more surgery and because of this experience I encourage any one else to go to a plastic surgeon licensed by the American Board of plastic Surgery or other well known plastic surgery organization. You will pay maybe $5,000-$6,000 but you will have lasting results. My results were for about 3 months. It took that long for the swelling to completely abate and once the swelling was gone so was my lift.
