On January 7th, I went in for surgery which was the result of an on-the-job injury. The entire surgery and all expenses were paid for by my self insured employer.
Several weeks after surgery, I recieved a bill in the mail from Pacific Medical Inc. For Post-Op shoe which a nurse had given me after the surgery. I tried calling Pacific Medical Inc. But could not reach anyone, so I left a detailed message with my name and claim information and who they needed to bill. I heard nothing back, so I also wrote them a letter in which I included a copy of my injury report and claim manager's phone number and billing adress.
The next thing I knew, I recieved ANOTHER bill in the mail from Pacific Medical in which they told me that my payment was late and that I should pay them right away to preserve my credit! Again, I responded with another phone message (still couldn't reach a real person) and a letter which I mailed back to them in their own self-adressed envelope, in which I AGAIN explained the situation.
Today, I recieved yet ANOTHER bill from them which said "FINAL NOTICE" and threatened to forward the bill to a collection agency unless I pay in 2 days.
I NEVER signed ANYTHING or agreed to buy their product - the nurse just put it on my foot! My self-insured employer's claim has paid all of my other hospital bills. I don't know what Pacific Medical's problem is, but I can't afford to pay for this bill and I am not legally responsible for it! I have PERFECT credit and I don't want it ruined by Pacific Medical's billing errors and unwillingness to correct THEIR problem, PLEASE HELP!
Thanks.
