My elderly mother received a phone call from NHCD Healthcare regarding additional insurance. She was told that NHCD would save her money on prescription drugs. My mother asked for information to be mailed to her regarding the policy but was told that she would have to first give her her charge card number.
My mother gave her the number on the card then questioned "Marie" further about the policy. My mother then told her that she did not want the policy.
Later that afternoon when my mother told me how upset she was that she had given her charge card number out to this woman, I urged her to cancel her card. She immediately did so.
Later that evening, my mother received another phone call from this woman that identified herself as Marie Alessi with NHCD Healthcare. She told her that she was unable to charge her Visa account and that she would need another charge card. Again, she was told that she DID NOT want the policy.
It is such a shame that the elderly are taken advantage of the way that they are.
