In July I had foot surgery. My husband went online and found Allegra Medical and ordered a pair of crutches for me. I wasn't able to use them and waited for a return label which didn't come. I finally addressed the same box they came in with the company address that was on the invoice, and returned them via UPS.
After months of complaints to the company and replies that they hadn't received the box, I finally contacted UPS and asked them to do a trace on the package. They did. The box ended up at an individual's address in New York! He signed for the package.
This February, I wrote a letter to that individual telling him that my box mistakenly ended up at his address and I requested that he return it to Allegro, the address on the box. The reply he sent stated that he'd ordered the crutches and the box was meant for him. How could he get the box I labeled for Mesa if that's what the UPS trace found?
I recontacted the company and Allegro said there was no record of receiving or restocking my crutches. They would not credit the $52 back to me so I feel like I just threw the money away. Excuses all around.
Who is mostly at fault here; Allegro Medical or UPS?
