In the first week of march I got injured at work. My shoulder, shoulder blade and my collar bone all 3 came out of their sockets. I tore my muscle off the bottom of my shoulder blade all the way around to my pec muscle which is an inch to an inch and a half over from where it used to be. My shoulder pops out and my shoulder blade pops out and it starts flopping like a fish out of water. My collar bone is not in the same place that it was. My right hand turns purple every time I use it or when I get up in the mornings. A sharp pain shoots up my arm when I turn a door handle or try to shoot pool. I have pictures and Xrays that show its messed up.
I went to the doctor and my boss said no to them fixing me. He said I had to go to the shop and fill out some paperwork first (good thing my arm didn’t come all the way off) which is bull all he had to say is yes. I could barely move from the pain and our shop was in the country up this steep totally messed up road that had big rocks and craters every where. That hurt like hell to get up there. After about a week or more the insurance company said I could go get checked out. I went to this place called FirstMed across the street from where I lived. He took xrays and said I need to see a Orthopaedic surgeon. I went to Douglass E Stull at Lawrence Orthopaedics center. He checked me out and then took me to a desk and told the lady at the desk to send me down to the hospital and have them give me an MRI and have me come back and put me back in the room I was in because he needed to start working on me right away. As soon as he left the room this idiot nurse that said she was here to help me (the insurance co hired her but she works for me HA) told the lady behind the desk that she needed to get conformation for the MRI. The lady tried to hand the nurse the phone but she said she would do it later and the lady behind the desk said she had delt with Acuity insurance company before and she would call them for conformation herself. My nurse said no again and was doing a little shake with her head and winking (like I couldnt see her). The lady behind the desk acted surprised like she couldn’t believe she wasn’t letting her set up the MRI. I didn’t know how it works because I never had a workers comp claim and I was in to much pain at the time to say anything. I already got yelled at when I first got there from the nurse behind the first desk. I had made an appointment that was changed by my nurse and I said if I make an appointment I would be the one to change it. She yelled and said it was the law to have that nurse with me. I think its a pretty dumb law when your in some really bad pain and you have to wait. Another week went by before I was sent to Kansas city to get an MRI. The MRI was on my neck only why I don’t know because I said my shoulder shoulder blade and collar bone came out. The second time I went to doctor Stull at the Lawrence orthopedics center the doc said there was nothing wrong with me. I would never go to any doctor unless it was necessary. I hate doctors because I always got to tell them how to do their jobs. If I could reach back there I would fix it my self. I know my body better than any doc knows anything about medical practice. I guess if they were real doctors they wouldn’t call it a practice they would know what they are doing. I have had many things happen to me. I have been cut by a knife six times three times I went to the hospital three times I fixed it myself only two times I didn’t make it to work the next day. One was on a Saturday and work was not till Monday. I got 33 stitches in my hand. The Sunday before that Saturday I got 27 stitches in my leg and I was at work that Monday. I’m saying this because these people think I don’t want to work. I was working at Sunflower cement finishing when this happened and laying ceramic tile at nights and weekends at the apartments I live in when I’m not shooting video for bands and comedy shows ect. I also make some very funny t shirts that I sell at different shows that I missed out on since this happened. This has been five months and nothing has been done to fix me. Acuity insurance company first offered 7000.00 dollars and then 1000.00 just to go away. They quit paying me workers comp checks on may 11th now they say they’re not paying me for being off work because the doctor said to go back and do light duty. He said maybe I can lick some stamps or something. I guess he never seen a concrete stamp. I will not go back to work until my whole right side gets fixed. I wake up in the morning and my hand is purple because its not getting enough circulation. My right side of my chest and my whole arm used to turn purple and feel real cold. That is scary. This is getting real old and i’m not putting up with it. Can anyone help? I’m getting really pissed. My lawyer is George H Pearson III he is saying I probably won’t get any money either. I say he’s not doing his job. I asked him if I could subpoena anyone and he said he thought the hearing was just for me not going back to work and there was no need to subpoena anyone. His secretary said the same thing. I called the Kansas workers comp office to get my own subpoenas and they said they couldn’t help and that George Pearson was a good lawyer and to ask him I said I did but still got no help in that matter. The preliminary hearing was today. The doctors, nurse or their private eye wasn’t there. I wanted a lot of people there to. There better be a full hearing on this. I just don’t know what is wrong with these idiots. I lost a lot of money already and I need to get back to work so I don’t lose any more.
