Refusal to honor payment/contract

Joined Bally's gym 2/19/09 for what was agreed upon month to month contract, and paid for 4 (1 hour) sessions with their personal trainer.

Made 2 seperate appointments with the personal trainer. (Ryan) 1st session consisted of only a half hour of training, and the other half hour consisted of a high pressure sales pitch stating I needed to pay him over $500 a month to have him train me on a longer term basis.

2nd session consisted of him lecturing me the entire time when I told him I couldnt afford to hire him on a monthly basis. Trainer spent 2 hours telling me not hiring him was not an option and that I would completely fail in any attempt to lose weight and get in shape without his help, and that I was destined to be unhealthy and fat and miserable (that is, if I happened to live longer than a few years) If I dont pay him the money to train me, and that my future children were destined to become fat and miserable like me. Again, I told him I couldnt afford to hire him on a monthly basis and merely wanted him to take the 4 sessions I had paid to have him for and get me started, teaching me how to use the equipment in a safe and effective way so i could lose weight on my own terms.

Personal trainer stated then he would refuse to honor the mere 4 sessions I had paid for and said again if I didnt commit to paying for him monthly, that I was wasting my time and shouldnt bother coming back to the gym again.

Attempted a few times to contact the manager (Alex) to notify him of what had gone on, and that I was pretty much bullied out of there and wasnt comfortable coming back and not only do I want to quit, i want reimbursement for the personal trainer sessions since he refuses to honor the sessions I paid for.

Unable to speak with any manager each time I called because I was always told they were "too busy" to speak with me and to call me back.

Finally, submitted a letter to the corperate office address they gave on the paperwork agreement they had me sign. I sent a certified letter giving brief discription of what had happened and that I wish to quit, and get reimbursed for the personal training sessions.

Have not heard word from anyone. Nobody returned my calls yet, and afraid Bally's will somehow not honor my wishes to quit and continue to charge me month to month as I see now they have a reputuation for not letting people quit... Even if it is month to month.

I just want my reimbursement and to quit my membership there and never have to deal with Bally's or thier disturbing high pressure sales tactics again.
