Professional Fitness is a shady company with no customer service skills. I had a personal training contract with them. I decided to cancel my contract due to lack of time. I had began an MBA program that left no time for personal training. I sent a certified letter to the corporate offices in Raleigh, NC.in return they sent my a letter confirming my request to terminate my contract and listed a $75 cancellation fee. To the best of my knowledge I sent a check into them.
I heard NO correspondence for FIVE months until I received a call from a collection agency looking to recover the monthly dues not collected by Professional Fitness for five months totaling nearly $500!
I immediately called the corporate offices where no one would answer, or the line would constantly "go dead". I was hung up on before being able to speak to any customer service reps several times. It took me seveal hours to get ahold of anyone.
At this point I explained I had sent a check in and that it must have been lost and offered to re-send it. I was told I still had to pay the $500 even though I didn't use the services since my cancellation because they did not receive the cancellation fee. I was not told that my account would only be cancelled upon receipt of the cancellation fee, else I would have followed up on my check to ensure it was cashed.
Again, I received NO correspondence from these people advising they did not receive a cancellation fee from me. They are still requesting payment from me, and it seems the legal recourse will be my last option. I even physically went to the gym to speak to these people with no resolution or even a call back! DO NOT enter a contract with these people! They will do anything to collect money from you!
