My wife was attending Titletown Fitness, changed her hours at work and was unable to attend the gym on an ongoing basis. She stopped in to cancel her membership prior to going to work one morning and signed the piece of paper the receptionist asked her to sign, but the receptionist never provided her with proof of cancellation. 2 months later after reviewing bank statements Titletown fitness is still charging our credit card for their unused services. I called Titletown Fitness to complain about the charges and their comment was "we do not have a cancellation on file" (how convenient to screw your customers out of money) Notice: if you ever cancel your membership with this local company, the form you fill out is on a regular sheet of paper -not carbon copies (you do not receive a proof of cancellation unless you think about asking them for a copy of the cancellation form. Well, after talking to the receptionist in person, she informs me that she can not make any kind of adjustments and her manager (boss) will not be in for another hour or so. There was no person at this facility during normal business hours that could make an important decision to help a person that had a gripe with their policies and practices. She made a decision to call her manager (boss) at home and disturb him, just to find out that all he is going to do is talk it over with his partner. Well, I received a phone call within an hour of leaving Titletown fitness from a Mr. Patrick Quinn (owner, co-partner) to have this man belittle me by saying I intimidated his staff and my wife is a liar. Obviously, this man does not have a business degree or a sense of pleasing a customer for the benefit of business. Not to mention this man closed his phone conversation with me by saying, "Stop being such a P R I C K!" and hung up the phone without a goodbye.:) I must say Mr. Quinn you sure did make my argument easy. We have filed a claim with the BBB Better Business Bureau, and a dispute with the Credit Card Company. Normally, chargebacks for a merchant run about $25.00 per charge back-this one will have 3. I hope it was worth it for $59.97.
