My wife went in there to tan one month before we moved to Dallas. We are both Greek, I was raised here and she was raised there so her English isn't very good and her trust is misdirected. She went in and told the girl she wants to tan for a month and the girl told her to "sign this". She did.
They then proceeded to charge her credit card for 5 months after we moved. The owner, Steve, wasn't co-operative in resolving the matter. That was about $300 in charges. I figured, OK, they got us for $300, no big deal. We'll just call it a loss.
Now we get an unknown item on the credit report. We dispute the item and it's supposedly "verified' as accurate. Come to find out it's from Solar Lounge and they want another $250 "cancellation fee".
So basically we paid about $200 per tanning session. COMPLETE FRAUD AND RIP OFF! We had already planned to move, there is no way my wife would have signed a 12 month contract if she understood what she was signing.
It's my fault for letting her go alone. It's her fault for signing sure. But this just goes to show the money hungry mentality of the owner "Steve" and total disregard for any kind of customer service or human understanding.
I am out to post this review on EVERY site I can find. I'm a small business owner too but there has to be some morals somewhere. They got away with the initial $300. That wasn't good enough Steve? Now you have to ruin my wifes credit for another $250??
I called the company who handles the "cancellation fee" and they said their fee was only $5. The "$250 cancellation fee" was all done by Steve and Steve has the authority to waive it with a simple phone call.
You make me absolutely sick Steve! How can you justify charging someone $550 for SIX TANS??
