Nearly killed my dog

These people sent me a thyroid pill for my dog. She doesn't have a thyroid problem she's got acute pancreatitis!!! Wrong pill, almost killed my dog, she couldn't eat, and when she did it came out same as it went in. I was really lucky to get to the vet in time. They were able to save her. I called them demanding that they own up to their guarantee and cover my expenses. They kept coming up with excuse after excuse after excuse. I even tried to talk to the guy supposedly in charge, Menderes Akdag, but they kept telling me that he wasn't in. I finally got to leave him a message and he never called me back. I did a little bit of research on these guys. One of their other founders, Yali Golan, was indicted for selling cocaine and it seems like they have a long list of other problems as well.

"Ever heard of the PetMed Express legal settlement vs. The Texas State Board of Pharmacy? A recent Barron's report discussed 'skeletons in the closet' at PetMed Express. The report stated that one of the two founders of PetMed Express, Yali Golan, is a convicted felon, having served time in prison for conspiracy to sell cocaine. According to Barron's, "In a lawsuit against Puleo [the other PetMed founder] and PetMed— one that's been winding its way through state and federal courts in Miami—Golan says his felony record led the two founders to use a shell company to hide Golan's involvement. But Puleo agreed to secretly share half his pay..." In a separate legal dispute reported by DVM News, PetMed Express recently revealed in an SEC filing that they've settled with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and Veterinary Medical Examiners against charges the company illegally dispensed veterinary drugs without valid prescriptions from practitioners with client-patient relationships."

(http://en. Wikipedia.org/wiki/1800Petmeds):

"In 1998, the Florida Pharmacy Board received several complaints against Petmeds alleging that the company had issued medications without a prescription from a veterinarian."

"In Petmeds was charged by the Florida Pharmacy Board for "operating an 'alternate veterinarian program' that contracted with veterinarians to write prescriptions for animals they had never examined". PetMeds agreed to pay penalties and dismantle the program, plus serve three years of probation and community service. The company reached a similar agreement in Ohio, including five years' probation.in Petmeds was sued by the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for similar issues to the Florida case."

"In Petmeds and the United States Environmental Protection Agency? Settled a "stop sales order" after Petmeds had sold flea control products that had been purchased outside of the United States and therefore gave their dosages in metric numbers. The maker of the misbranded product, Novartis, also sued Petmeds and other pharmacies over the issue."

If I had known all of this I would have NEVER bought from them. BUYER BEWARE! They will make fake guarantees, and never follow through. They will send you wrong pills and you won't even get an apology. Oh, and don't bother contacting Mendo Akdag, he doesn't care enough to even call you back.
