I ordered a free trial of an Acai Berry supplement. The name of the company was not disclosed at the time I placed the order, and I certainly was not agreeing to pay $89.33 a month to be automatically debited to my account for future shipments of the product. The free trial was made available via an e-mail in which no payment terms were disclosed, nor was the name of the company making the offer provided.
When I first noticed the charge to my checking account, which referenced 30 Day Thin, I entered that name as a URL address which delivered me to a web page featuring a 7 day trial of their Acai Power product. This was the first time the company's name was revealed to me, and the first time I saw any disclosure regarding the "negative option" as it relates to automatic payment. Also the number on the website, which I have not yet called because it is after hours, is different from the phone number refereced in the debit posted to my checking account. That # was 877-350-8480. I called the number numerous times throuhout the day and no one picked up.in the evening an answering machine picked up the call, and placed me on hold for over 20 minutes before I abandoned the call.
This is a bogus company that duped me into an unfavorable arrangement by sending me a teaser e-mail offering a free trial, without directing me to their website, or any other media disclosing the actual terms of their offer. The e-mail simply provided me with a link through which i could request my free trail.
