Beulaville Medical
False diagnoses - breaking confidentialy - slande

I had been going to Beulaville Medical Associates for a few years. Up until recently I was perfectly fine with the medical clinic, until I became ill. I went to topsail for a couple of hours and laid out in the sun, didn't realize how badly burnt I was, I came home, and for 2 weeks I became increasingly more ill. From that point on, the throwing up for 2 weeks I wondered if I was pregnant I took my first test it came up negative, took another one a month later still throwing up and becoming more increasingly ill finally, I took one more pregnancy test that showed positive, well after three months of throwing up, having the chills, my body hurting all over, sharp pains in my chest and in other area's of my body, I finally decided to go to the doctor's out at Beulaville Medical Associates, I saw the Physicians Assistant that I had been seeing for awhile, because apparently they don't know how to hire a full time real PHYSICIAN out there, I explained my situation to the Physicians Assistant, and she decided to take a blood test, and a urine culture. I didn't particularly care about, the pregnant part as much as I did my health, I couldn't even step outside without being winded, losing my breath, and throwing up. Not too awfully long after, they did my urine test the Certified Medical Assistant said I had no blood in my urine, no infection, but I had a large amount of electralytes in my urine, then the physicians assistant comes over to me, and says I have a infection in my urine, and the electralytes, so she prescribes me Macrobid for the urine infection, plus a anti nausea pill. I was supposed to hear about my blood results latest in three days, it took four days for them to finally call me back. The Certified Medical Assistant that had took my blood, and didn't know how to read the results of a urine test called me, to tell me i had "strep" of the blood, not pregnant, and they were calling in a prescription for my "blood Infection" I said to her, not knowing how serious a blood infection can be, not knowing it can cause Septic Shock and shut down organs "what am I supposed to do?" She then told me the Physicians Assistant said to see a psychiatrist. I took the medicine for the amount of time I was supposed to, and was not much better then I was when I had initially went into their office. I decided, not to see that Physicians Assistant according to my grandmother Glenda who is a Doctor, she didn't feel a Physicians Assistant was good enough for me given my past medical history. I made a appointment with my normal Doctor in there, went to see him today, apparently they don't know how to document information they tell you to your face, because he saw no records of electralytes in my urine, and he said I had "Strep of the urine". Well, at this point I figured they really needed to get their facts straight, telling someone you have "strep of the blood aka Sepcemia" is a serious thing, I also wanted to confront him, and explain to him the insulting comment of me going to a psychiatrist for treatment when I was very ill physically. He said, sharply he did not even want to hear about it, he had already been told about the comment, and I should honestly consider the fact that I could be psychologically making myself sick, and that was a option.By this point I was pissed to say the least, and he was always a very nice man, and I expected more out of him then ignorance. After, a few years of going to this medical office, I honestly would not recommend them at all. I feel, they are highly unprofessional, and quite opinionated, and when they make their mind up you have something, its a done deal. No matter, if I were to go outside tomorrow, and accidently fall and break my leg I have concluded these people would think I "mentally" made myself break my leg. Like the saying goes, what goes around comes around. If I had any legal grounds at all for confidentiality being broken, because I was once reffered to a Psychiatrist from this Physicians Assistant, mis diagnoses or anything else in the book you could think of, I would be on a phone directly with an attorney right now, and I'm still not convinced I won't go that far. Don't, let yourself get inadequate treatment from this facility. Besides, everyone thinks a Physicians Assistant is supposed to be "just like a doctor" news flash, from a doctor in the family, it is not, they are like "nurse practitioners". Needless to say, I wont be back there again, and if something were to happen to me anyday soon, I hope my husband sues them for everything he can. Theres one place you can count on to give you real results in 4 hours or more, the ER in Kinston. Atleast, they wont make you out to be a nutcase, and be treated ignorantly. Just a warning to honest folks who really need medical attention. You don't want to feel like I did today.
