LA fitness is a recognized brand, their facility is great, sign up is easy sailing - priced not too badly, but their cancelation policy is a nightmare.
I figure it was time to cancel this membership when I am throwing money away for a facility I barely set foot in. I was basicly give them free money for the last six months - but that's when the annoyance begin.
I go on their website to cancel - to find out you can't cancel online.
I called their mainline - to find out you can't cancel through the phone
I go to their office - to find out you can't cancel in person
It took me 5 minutes to sign up! Wth?
I was told to fill out a form and must be receive by their corporate office 30 days before the next billing (certify mail please) - which basicly meant they get to rip off another month from me, in addition to the prepaid last month.
And for those wondering what's the super sensitive information on the form that is such a pain to obtain - * you fill out your name, and check a box (yes for cancel)*.
I actually called my bank to stop the automatic transfer a month after I UPS the cancelation letter, and is currently in another annoying situation with LA fitness calling me about dues, and late fees. I refuse to fund this lame tactics after seeing so much people going through the same thing.
