I went on line looking for "Health Insurance" after quiting my job and was promptly called by Nickolas (I hadn't even finished filling out the application and submitted it when my phone rang) who told me he had the perfect Insurance plan for me since I had pre-existing conditions for only 239.00 monthly. I thought "United Health" was a reputable name and fell hook line and sinker.
I never received any thing in the mail such as a policy, benefits cards to even use the plan. I called the phone number many times only to get voice mail, my call would be returned which they were not.
I did get through to somebody once who told me the ID number I had been given belonged to 3 other people and she didn't even show ME in her system. I did receive a call from someone telling me she didn't know how I got her number but that she was not a part of "united Health" and that I did NOT have INSURANCE, That is was a discount card that I had purchased.
I called to cancel the plan on the 10th of September after taking it out on the first of September once I figured out that I had been taken and also called my bank to stop payment, because my bank entered the stop wrong yet another 239.95 was taken out on the 15th of September only 2 weeks after the first initial payment of 239.00 plus 120.00 open enrollment fee, non refundable of course.
In other words they (united health) didn't cancel when I told them too and took me for another 239.00. I have been out 598.95 and am going to have to cancel my accounts at the bank to make sure United Health doesn't get anymore of my money.
He used words like INSURANCE, DEDUCTIBLE, does that sound like a discount plan instead of insurance? Be careful of this company, they are not a part of UNITED HEALTH CARE.
