I am filing this report on behalf of my mother who had an eye surgery operation in December.
The agreement between my mother and the Center was that she would receive her full deductible refund upon payment from Blue Cross. Her eye surgery was at the beginning of December and Metro Eye Center was paid by Blue Cross on December 29.
Up until December Metro Eye Center had not kept this agreement. My mother had called numerous times and as usual, she was either brushed off by the female office manager, or told that payment had already been sent out. On many occasions, I tried to emailed and faxed the agreement letter, signed by the office manager, and a copy of the Blue Cross invoice and was given the similar runaround. I also wrote to the ophthalmologist and the billing department and received no help.in addition, I enlisted the aid of the Better Business Bureau which bear the same result.
The reimbursement amount was in the few hundred dollars which does not equate to small claims court. However, I would like to caution others with this circus like eye center. Because of these clowns, many referrals have been lost.
