Golden Rule Insurance forces the insured to pay both in and out of network deductibles by not being able to provide the insured with the both facilities and doctors at facilites that are in network. For outpatient services you fill find that either the facilities OR the Doctor is out of network. Thus, you ar chaged out of network for one and in network for the other.
When you call Golden Rule insurance (which by the way does NOT have a toll free number) and ask them to give YOU the name of a facility and Doctor at the facility that are in network, they cannot provide you with this information. So if you have a $2,000 deductible for in network and a $4,000 for out of network, you end up having to pay both before your claims are paid at 100%.
Also, for regular Doctor office calls, they tell you that prior to meeting your deductible, they have pre-negoatied discounts. This may be true, but the doctors do not know it and if you call Golden rule, and give them the Doctors name and ask what the pre-negoatiated cost is, they cannot tell you. SOME doctors will bill you out and when it comes back, bill you that amount. However, others will want you to pay their total insurance billable amount up front which is usually several hundred dollars.
Anyway you look at it, Golden rule is raking in the dough and the insured is left paying a much higher deductible than they thought when they took out the policy.
