Bally's Total Fitness
Misleading dishonest

In Dec of 1999 I joined Ballys because of the promotion they had going at the time and also I felt that it would really be to my benefit being that I was a new mom and I had some sliming down to do so how could I lose? Well I found out the answer to that question sooner than later. I was told by my doctor that It was ok to start working out 1 year after the delivery so I figured it was alright.By the end of Jan (1 1/2 mos later) I started to experience severe abominal pain due to the c-section I had one year earlier. I was told upon my signing Ballys contract that if I had to cancel my contract all I had to do was bring in a doctors note stating that working out was causing me health problems and it would be canceled, and so I did bring it that note when I noticed that the pain I was experiencing was from excersising. When I presented this note to the Ballys representative I was told that it was not enough I need to have more serious condition. I was 20 years old at the time and didnt really know what to do but stop going so thats what I did. Its now 2006 and I just recieved a letter from a county sheriff with a court document that states I owe Bally's roughly 3,000.00 and they will start to garnish my wages in 20 days of reciept of the letter. This has caused so much unnessesary stress to me right now and I am totally lost I dont know what I should do. Someone out there please help. God Bless
