My wife ordered a free trial bottle of Ultra Hoodia for just the shipping charge of $4.87. The product was shipped and received and she did not like it. She was under the impression that that was the end of the deal.
Today, I was reviewing our bank statements and discovered that we were charged $46.95. Upon further review of past months statements, were were charged $46.95 for the months of Nov., Dec., and Jan. I know, I was kinda stupid for not questioning these charges before but...
So I asked my wife about it and she said she never received anything from them and she assumed that the account had been cancelled.
She called them and talked to a person named Katrina. Katrina refused to refund our money. Furthermore, my wife told her she never received the product. Katrina told her that she would send the product. My wife said that she did not want it and that she wanted to talk to the owner of the company. Katrina told her that she wasn't getting her money back and she couldn't talk to anyone else about it and that was final.
So, I called back. I was told that we were not going to get a refund for the product but that they would send more product to us.
I told her that I did not want more product and that I felt that I could understand one month of product maybe getting lost in the mail, but not four months. I said that I felt that it was a scam and that now that I caught them in it they were willing to send me more product which I did not want.
She then told me that when my wife ordered, that there were terms of agreement stated on the order form that she had to call back in 15 days to cancel or else she was put on automatic shipment. I cannot refute this. But it seems that a reputable company would not put such provisions on an order form.
Also, a reputable company would have shipped the product which was not done four months in a row. Refusal to refund the money for product which we did not receive is not good business. At best, this company is deceptive, uncooperative, rude, and practices under very shady conditions.
Furthermore, I was told that the website listed on the trial bottle which we did receive is not even the website of the company. What is that all about?
