Offered nursing position in PACU at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. Signed agreement stipulating fulltime employment in PACU with Monday-Friday hours of 12Noon to 8PM.
Found home. Delay in assuming position related to real estate acquisition/broker misrepresentation. Kept in constant contact with Rio Grande Regional Hospital Nurse Recruiter and with Carol Heckenkemper, the perioperative services manager.
Moved 1800 miles with all belongings from Philadelphia, PA to Weslaco, Texas.
Arrived at hospital for pre-employment stuff. PACU charge nurse told me that my agreed-to position had been given to another person who was to start working 2 weeks after my start date of 01/21.
Carol Heckenkemper, manager, would not return my calls, would not speak to me when I went to her office and I had to go the CNO and CEO to ask them to request that she speak with me.
They gave me another position for which I had not moved to Texas to assume and for which I had not been trained. I am an expert in post anesthesia care. I was given a critical care nursing education position that had not existed previously. I am certified in critical care. And I tried in every way that I could, with absolutely no help from management at Rio Grande Regional, to perform a job that had no parameters, no support from the critical care manager with whom I was supposed to collaborate and no response from my cardiovascular services line director who oversaw the critical care units and critical care education.
I ended up leaving the position and since then I've been floundering professionally.
