I checked in this hospital with chest pains. They responded well enough in the beginning and soon told me I did not have a heart attack. I was soon stable and feeling well enough to leave but they told me I had to be admitted for further tests.
I explained that I had no insurance and that I could not pay for these services. They said it did not matter and admitted me to the hospital. After two days and several tests I made up my mind to go home. When I told the nurses I was leaving one of them made a special visit to my room.
She told me that I was very sick and that my heart was weak. She went on to say that the hospital needed to do a special test on my heart and perhaps even surgery.
My wife and I were alarmed at this news and agreed to stay another night. The next day my doctor came into the room and told me I was just fine and that I was being discharged. I was very confused. Then the Doctor went on to say that I should get to a Cardologist ASAP. Then Baptist Hospital kicked me out!
Later on I learned that I had a lot of blockage in one of the main arteries in my heart. The staff at Baptist Hospital knew they were not going to treat me from the start. They just wanted to make as much off me as possible. They bill is $5,300.00 and they are taking me to court.
I have spoken with several individuals in their collection department that have admitted this is wrong. But in the end I got ripped off!!
