Personnel,
I am reporting to you the shameful way that I was treated by the billing department of Oregon Advanced Imaging in Medford, OR recently. I am totally disabled and have no income. Yet; medically, I really needed to get the MRI on April 1; and I paid in full with my credit card, for fear of not being able to receive the MRI. After several days, I asked the billing department if they had financial assistance, and they sent me a form. I spent my time and energy filling out the forms and paying postage for mailing.
I am on food stamps, made less than $400 dollars last year, and have been using a credit card for
Living expenses. I spent my time filling out this form showed all proof and even more than Asante and Providence, which are local hospitals; where I had applied for financial aid. According to these hospitals, I qualified to have my ER Bills paid 100%. After receiving no reply; I had to call in to ask the billing dept. My status. I was shocked when I was told there was no financial assistance available to me.
I talked with Linette, a manager; who was very abusive, accusing me of somehow not being worthy;
And I needed to give her more information.
Since I knew she was being abusive, I told here that my proof of credit card transactions, food stamp proof, tax return, and financial assistance letter from Asante was plenty and more than was required. But Linette, continued arguing and insinuating delusional sources of income.
Her treatment of me is shameful, and she claims that this is standard practice to waste people's time and to deny help to those who don't have any income.
She refused to offer me the ability to make payments and lied to me about not being able to offer a historical percentage of assistance... And she claims to represent OAI policy... Really?
If this is the actual policy of OAI... To treat people like garbage: then the disgraceful and crooked ways in which I endured with this company is noted.
Sincerely wronged,
James Carroll
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
I am seeking an apology for my discrimination, an actual historical financial discount; based on zero income and justice to be done.
