I have been shopping at Maibach for over a year now and purchase many items there so I feel I can make an evaluation of their store. I bought a new condo which was a foreclosure at a great price in northeast ohio. Because I am a lower middle class person and needed new furniture for my house in needed to watch my pennies. However, I have a master degree in statistics and worked in the top companies and have been in some very expensive home with beautiful furniture and want the same. I reviewed many furniture stores in akron/cleveland area including ethen allen and antreas in sugercreek and by far Maibach showroom looks the nicest. They carry Hooker furniture, Smith Brothers sofas and chairs, Flexsteel sofa and recliners, Best furniture, Kicher and Quoizal Lamps, all types of accent pieces, Bernhardt, furniture and Bulter furniture. The furniture on display is picked out by an interior designer who is the sister-in-law of the Maibachs and she has super taste.
A lot of people think that they can’t afford to have good furniture. So, they end up going to cheap furniture stores or stores who claim to have huge sales. What they don’t realize is that although they may be spending less on their furniture, it is usually not furniture that is very high quality. Therefore, they end up having to replace it within a few short years, and in the long run, it ends up costing more than it would have to buy the more expensive furniture in the first place. It is actually more economical to pay more now for quality home furnishings, because they are going to last a lot longer and you will not have to replace things.
You’ll be glad to know that you never have to settle when it comes to finding the perfect furniture. That’s because you will get everything you need by shopping at Maibachs. Let me tell you my first experience with the best furniture designer/salesperson at Maibach’s. Her name is Karen and if you want to deal with a true believer in Christ… it is Karen. I walked in the store and I saw a beautiful mirror chest that I really liked. But the price tag stated $1499 and I told her I cannot not afford that. She said just please come back and look around some more. I came back a month later and the same chest was on sale for $999. I told Karen I still could not afford it and she said well give me your email address to let you know when our sales are on. So I did. Meanwhile, I asked my carpenter what is thought about Maibach and he said he could not afford them. So, I went back to Maibachs the third time. This time in addition to the large mirrored chest, they had a small mirrored chest that I liked even more. Karen told me to wait again. They also put a rug I liked on sale. Over the next few days an email came from Karen adnoucing a 10% or 15% off sale. I went into Maibachs and they put the chest and rug on a tag marked sold at the discounted price. The night of the discounted sale, I also found another rug I just loved at a very reasonable price also with a discount and I bought that too.
I looked at a Smith Brothers sofa and matching chair at another store and without me asking the sales manager gave me a matching price to the other store. Same thing with my Flexsteel recliner that is at a super sale price (only $10 more for a better recliner) and match a hooker accent end table.
I was looking for an accent piece to go by the fireplace. I just loved a planter for $295 which I could not afford. We looked and looked all around the store. Guess what the second to last piece we found match the sofa and chair perfectly and the price was only $45 and with the "no tax sale" was only $38. And this vase is big enough to sit on the floor next to the fireplace. You just have to be patience and look around. Also if you are like me, I just like to go and walk around the store myself which is fine with their salespeople. They don’t bug you and you can let someone know what you are interested in and your salesperson will call you back or Dave will assist you.
To save money, James (the president) Dave (sales manager), and Robert (warehouse manager) allowed me to store my items (without a storage fee) in their warehouse until a few months later when I could wait to get most of my furniture on sale. Please note to be fair I paid for the furniture when it hit the warehouse.
I could not afford the bedroom furniture in the showroom. Karen came out to my condo and bought cut out of tables for the kitchen. All the other tables other stores recommended would not have fit my small kitchen. Karen got me the perfect table at a very fair price. She also got super chairs and to save money she ordered the chair without pads and told me to go somewhere else to get pads. She always puts my interest above hers or the stores.in my bedroom I have my walls color washed and ragged a shade of medium blue, light blue and white. She told me not to buy dark furniture (with were the color of the two nightstands I had from my apartment). Karen found the most beautiful pieces of furniture which I could afford in the Hooker catalog and the price she gave me was $75 less than Wayside and $250 to $500 less than any other store in Cleveland or Amazon.com. Please note I don’t ask for a deal, Karen and Dave just give it to me because they know I am on a budget.in fact, if you go into Maibachs and cannot find something within your price range, if you tell any of the designers/salesmen what you are looking for and the price range, they will as a team put something together to please you. (If you are a guy and want a guy to work with you Anthony just a super job at pick out male furniture. I’ve watched him in action and he is wonderful picking out furniture for single men. He is also good with picking out furniture for a family) This store is all about customer satisfaction. They do not pressure you into a sale. Their furniture is of the highest quality and a fair and reasonable price and have been this way for over 100 years. Every designer/salesman is of the highest ethics and all have great taste and are very nice. You cannot go wrong with anyone at Maibachs.
So please go into Maibachs and look around. If the price tag makes you a little nervous please talk to Dave, the sales manager, and see what alternatives they can offer you to make your home look at beautiful as mine. Dave will find the right person to work with you. And if you are ever unhappy with anything, Maibach will due their best to fix the issue. I had a little accent table in the front hallway. I did not realize that it was painted. Karen did not even question the issue, but return it and ordered the stained table at the same price. So go into Maibachs and enjoy what your home could look like. You just might see me shopping there. I will be buying a few more pieces in 2012 from Karen my furniture consultant. I just love Maibach and Karen. (Just a footnote. My designer who is helping me with accent pieces and window treatments and has a degree in design said Maibach did an outstanding job on my home and cannot believe the deals I got.)
