A couple of months ago, I bought a couch and credenza from Ashley Furniture, Santa Maria, CA, a new store that replaced one that closed a couple of years ago, new owners. I didn't check the reviews (big mistake).

OK, you'll get them in an average of 2 weeks. Credenza came in 4. Ok, I can deal with that. Where's my couch? Oh, it's in the warehouse. Be there Monday. This was on Friday. Monday, no call. Tuesday, no call. I call them. Oh, they forgot to load it on the truck, it will be there Thursday. No call by Friday. I go to the warehouse with my truck, it's about 15 miles away. Oh, it's backordered. So, 3 weeks later, I said, if it isn't here by the weekend, I want to cancel. The guy behind the desk gets a fired up and starts telling me, 25% restock fee. I said, How can you restock it if you haven't pulled it out of stock yet? He kept repeating 25% restock fee. So it turns up about 2 weeks later. OK, no problem.

I check the contract. I specifically declined the warranty on the furniture. Well, they charged me for it anyway. Then they removed it.

Here it is, about a month later. I get the statement from the credit card company. They double charged me. That's where we stand, as of right now. I'm about to go down there and see what the deal is.

They've lied to me nearly every time I've talked to them. I get the feeling that this place is bordering on criminal activity, they suck in a major way.
