Lane Home Furnishings Store at 12402 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Florida.
The saga continues. Today 10/4 Lane delivered a replacement piece of furniture. They took the original faulty piece to the curb and then unpacked the furniture they were delivering at the curb so I could try it out. The problem was the same so I refused delivery.
They called the store manager and he was emphatic that they will not take both pieces back. He was willing to let it on the curb vs. Taking it back.
His attitude is they tried to fix it, the fact that it did not work is not a concern, so his position is the piece of furniture is mine. He tells me they deliver lots of them so I cannot be having a problem. He tells me there is no way under any condition that he will take it back. How desperate can a store be to have this attitude about one piece of furniture? He tells me the repair person said it's OK yet the repair person told me he could not allow me to see the report he was submitting nor leave a copy with me. I made him write on the form that I am not satisfied with the fix. It's obvious they have had problems in the past and have put process and procedures in place to not allow a customer any recourse when an issue like this is present. The bottom line here is this Lane store will not take anything back even if it doesn't work.
I can see after talking to the store manager there is no compromise and I will not get anywhere with them. If this clam is settled and Lane is paid I am stuck with a faulty piece of furniture.
