We just used Straight Forward Moving to move us from Jersey to California. I must admit that I sought refuge with my dogs and 8-month old baby at my in-laws for the entire move - I couldn't handle all that pressure.
My husband was there physically during the move, and he has found the experience to be wonderful. I had dealt with the representatives on the phone planning the move, and my husband handled the actual packing and pickup days. We just like everyone else read the reviews before we purchased their services. We saw a lot of good reviews and some terrible ones, so we were a bit concerned. Luckily, the "moving horror story" wasn't our case. There were some small human errors, but nothing off the hook. The packers arrived bright and early at their scheduled time on Sunday to pack us up. They returned the following morning, a couple minutes late but it's completely forgivable, to move all the boxes to our new place.
They gave us an estimated time for delivery, said it's usually 14 days maximum and it took 21 days (and after reviewing the contract it indeed says up to 21 business days). It was a little frustrating, but considering the distance they covered we cannot complain... And we got pampered for a little more time at the hotel so it was not a hassle. We were happy with the experience overall. Upon delivery only one item was broken... And it was my husband who broke it while entering the house.
The only "thing" that bothered us a bit was that after the day of packing, the guys said they would need to bring more boxes to finish up the job the following day and that there may be a charge for that. My husband was quick to produce the email that he had from our contact person stating that "extra boxes will not incur a charge" and they quickly backed down, since the contract states that only additional furniture is an extra charge. Overall, great experience. We would use this company again if we have to move, hopefully not for several years.
