Vegas Foto INC
Rip OFF, no warranty, EXPIRED LICENCE

I was in Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday and for the money i got i was happy to finally buy a new lens for my camera. So when i saw Vegas Foto inc. I went to the shop right away being excited to get my birthday gift.

The sales person seemed to be very friendly and an expert, showing all the products with huge enthusiasm.in the end i purchased 2 lenses and 2 filters for $500 in total, being convinced that i got an incredible deal and got even the filters as a gift. As i am from Europe the guy said that i shouldn't worry about warranty, since they are an authorized Canon dealer and the international warranty is included.

After paying, what got me worried already was that he took the lenses out of boxes, put all the goods in a sack (which i was also getting "for free" - wow, what a nice deal!) and put the boxes in a trash can. With this my happy excitement about the purchase started to vanish and i asked the boxes back in case i needed to return the goods. The happy face of the guy changed, but he gave me the boxes back with some hesitation.

When i came back to hotel, i found out that:
1) there was no international warranty on a Canon lens;
2) there was not a single paper related to the other lens (from Bower);
3) i was completely ripped off, since i was overcharged at least double! (canon lens officially costs ~ $130, Bower around $40, and filters $40 max in total)
4) there was a huge fingerprint on a canon lens

So the next day i went back to the store. I can't say the seller was happy to see me. When i said i wanted to bring the stuff back, he said there was no problem, but i had to wait for the manager. It took 2 hours to wait and when the manager showed up, he was saying that they didn't accept returns, only exchange and that i shouldn't worry about the warranty since they were authorized dealers. I knew he was lying, so we kept on discussing for about an hour. Hector (that was his name i believe) was rude and i could hardly put any word in between his speech. He promised to give me a warranty proof, which never happened.

I went outside the store to read their license put on the door and i found out it was over a month expired! When i pointed it out to the manager, he got a bit nervous, but then told me again not to worry since he has a new one and he can give me a copy if i want. So when i said i do want it, he then told me they don't give copies to the customers. When i asked just to show it he refused to do so either. However he got nervous and finally agreed to accept Canon lens back and give me $200 in return. He tried tricking me again even then! Since in that case i'd have ended up paying around $300 for a $40 Bower lens! I told him this and since he was getting more and more nervous he agreed to take the bower lens back instead and give me $200.

I regret now that i stopped the discussion, but it was too nerve wracking, i regret i didn't go to police right away either, since an expired license is a serious violation!

NEVER deal with those cheaters! And be very careful when you buy something and always do a preliminary research on the prices. Check the goods for scratches etc, check the warranty! And check if it's really an authorized dealer! Canon reputation shouldn't suffer because of those criminals.
