Bought the printer because of advertised lowest ink cost on market.
I print maybe 5 to 10 pages a week and am not even able to get 20 sheets before out of ink.
Ink used to be 12.00 at wallmarts, Ink cartridges are now XL size and costs 34.00
Still only get around 20 sheets before running to wallmart. These are black invoices with very little color!
Upon searching the internet, I find hundreds of people having the same problem with numerous different Kodak printers yet Kodak will not admit to a problem.
Curious, I took a cartridge apart, it has a damp sponge inside instead of ink. It also uses a chip that tells the printer when it thinks the cartridge is out of ink, not that it is actually out of ink.
There is no way to bypass the chip, and no way to print black and white only, if color runs out it simply will not print even with a full black cartridge. I ran a test today, printed one invoice 98% black print, black ink went down 10% Folks, my math says I get 10 Pages if thats the case.
Another note, it doesnt warn u either, you go to print and it just dont even try, says inks low, order more here, with a handy click to order button.in other words, last time you used it it was fine, then at the most worse time you need to print something fast, it will not let you, wont even give you a crappy print, just nothing. You know there's ink, but it refuses to even try. Just try to print B&W then since you have a 1/2 full black cartridge, Nope, Color is low, wont let you run the printer at all. But the buy here button works just fine. What a Joke!!!
