I'm wondering if this is a new scam going on... I opened my Verizon telephone bill today and had a seperate charge for a company called OAN Services a "setup fee" of $12.95. It also stated "Billing on behalf of Affinity Mktg Partnrs", billing questions call 1-800-944-9646. I called and asked what exactly this charge was for... The woman just asked "You didn't authorize this charge?" I said "No, I don't even know what its for!" She added very quickly that she would terminate my services (whatever they were) and I would receive a credit.
Then as I was about to hang up she also claimed that I would probably still see 2 more charges on my next months bill but I'll get credit for those also. So I called Verizon very upset and explained what had just happened, they agreed that it is very possibly a new scam and are going to block any further billing from this company. The phone bill also gave a web address to this so called company www.oanweb.com I have tried to look it up but have found no information as to what it is that they are trying to bill for.
