Last year an a/c technician came to our house to see why the a/c unit was not working properly. Before he would add freon he demanded that we pay him 300.00 to clean the coils in our outdoor unit box. He said that if we did not have him do this he would not add freon and he would report us to the company for not maintaining our unit. He made us feel like we were dirty and irresponsible people. We paid him the extra money and he spent about 30 minutes to use our hose to wash out the dust that was in the outside unit and then added freon.
This year we called for service again and the man who came out just held a small mirror under the inside unit and said this is the problem. You have dust in there. He wanted 700.00 to clean the dust.
We did not have him clean it but called a different company in and the service man said that the unit wasn't bad and would check it out. We paid him under 100.00 to dust it out and add freon.
My husband and I felt like we were being targeted by the insurance repairmen to make a lot of extra money.
We most likely won't use this warranty company again and warn others to be careful.
