Walmart Re-sells Damaged Items

Sunday, May 29th my boyfriend and I went into Wal-Mart and purchased a 50" inch plasma TV from the display that we saw. The gentleman assisting us went into the back room and brought out a TV in a brand new box. We brought the TV home, assembled the stand and noticed the buttons were on the side, as oppose to the bottom like the display showed. When we plugged it up, the TV would turn on for a few seconds then off on it's own. This happened over and over until we manually turned it off.

The next day my boyfriend brought the TV back to exchange for a new one, and the assistant manager informed him that the serial number on the TV did not match the serial number on the receipt. This meant that we were sold a used, damaged TV in a brand new box. When we explained to the assistant manager that this had happened, he told us he would investigate the matter and call us. That same day he informed us that he had been able to track down the receipt for when the damaged TV was originally purchased in and that he would have to call us on Tuesday, May 31st.
