Bought a Samsung 42" Plasma TV at 5 PM, 3/27/07. Loaded in SUV and taken home. Took unit out for set-up/installation and found a "Display" tag on the back of the stand. Called salesman who was apologetic and told us to load it back up and drive back to return it for a new one. Claimed he had no idea how this happened. Returned the unit to the store.
Store manager told me that based on the information he could find, the T.V. Had been sold at another Circuit City, not his. And since that had happened, I would have to wait until they could do a "return ticket" check to see how that could have possibly have happened.in the meanwhile, I couldn't get an exchange. I would have to reload the old one (now it's 9:30 P.M.) and take it back home, unload it, reload it the next day, and return it to the store that had originally sold it to someone or the other.
The manager said I couldn't leave it there. I told him that I had purchased the extended warranty and not to worry about it because it was covered. I have six witnesses, I'm ready to own a circuit city franchise by pursuing every legal path available to me.
These people (the manager) did everything but accuse me of being someone that was trying to do something unethical, illegal. I felt violated when I left last night.
