I like to shop early. Having 4 grandchildren, I have purchased many items (furniture included). I purchased 2 Pak N Play Sheets and one Pak and Play Pad Cover. Unopened, and with my receipt, I attempted to return them as the mother was not going to use a Pak N Play after al. Not realizing there is a 90 day return policy (it's not on the receipt), the return desk offered less money than I paid for the items, in spite of having the receipt showing what I actually paid. When I asked for a manager, she called the mgr on duty, and explained that I wanted full credit. From a remote location, the mgr told her to inform me that they did not have to accept the return and I would get nothing. I was not beligerent, did not raise my voice, and only wanted a credit for what I actually paid. The items are not discontinued. I felt it was extremely rude of the mgr in charge to be upset that I, the customer, only wanted credit for what I had paid. I did not ask for anything free. I called the 800 Customer Service line, who informed me that they could not override a managers decision. Rather than refund my money, for $30.00, Babies R Us risks losing the business of not just me, but my adult children, and everyone I know should I repeat this incident.in an economy and market where customers have choices, I believe Babies R Us made a wrong choice. Unhappy customers on average tell 30 people of their discontent, who tell others and so on and so on.
