I sent in my ipod, albeit after reading a goodly number of negative things on line. This is, of course, MY fault. The problem with my ipod nano 3rd generation was that the output jack (headphone jack) was bad, and a note was enclosed with the unit stating exactly that. Two days after arrival I received an email which stated the following:
When diagnosing your device we noticed a problem with the headphone
jack. We are sorry to inform you that this part is not available due to
the generation of the iPod.
For this non-event, I paid $38 (a $25 "diagnostic" charge and $8 to ship the unit back to me).
I really think it's being dishonest (or at the least very misleading) to not say somewhere on their website that "we don't carry parts for certain "generations" of ipod. Please email us to make sure we have what you need before shipping your device." In fact, this is what I did anyway.
In spite of the large number of testimonials on the web site, be careful of this outfit.
