A/k/a w computers of cincinnati avoid laptop world they do not inform you of no return policy

Avoid laptop world they do not inform you of no return policy. I went into Laptop World for the first time not knowing it would be a stressful fiasco. The reason I needed to help in the first place was because my existing laptop wouldnt power on and a clerk from Best Buy said Laptop World fixes computers in-house. But when I arrived, rather than repairing it at a reasonable cost, they prided themselves on saying how I'd save by buying new laptop -vs - paying $180 to take old one apart, plus new power cord & battery. They said it would be expensive & Id be better off buying new laptop b/c they accept trade-in. Furthermore, they'd transfer data for free.

Later, I discovered complaints that they lie regarding whether laptops are new & take short cuts by not providing a box/proof of warranty. John Lightfoot is sales person. He was good at charming me. He recommended Toshiba Satelite
C655 saying, Youre going to love this laptop. Its really fast. I replied, If you say so. I dont know enough about computers. While transferring my data, John said sign here on computer print-out showing $799.00 minus $100 trade in. Total $744.44 with tax. John didnt point out that all sales are final. Also signed AMEX slip. After he handed me the laptop, I asked for the box. He replied that most people have no need for a box. From that point on, I had a bad feeling but it only got worse. When I brought it home & discovered it wasn't new (mouse jumps, key board unpleasant), I called John.

Bought it at 6pm & called at 7:45pm. He said, Bring it back & Ill take care of you. Next, I bought a HP from Costco. After discovering that Laptop World has a reputation for lying about whether laptops/parts are new, I didnt want the risk. When I returned, John was friendly until he saw new laptop with me. He said, Let me call owner. After 10 min, he came back & said, I'm sorry to tell you this but all sales are final. I explain that to anyone who asks. I replied that it doesnt say so on the receipt & showed him. He said that's only the AMEX receipt & I should have been given print-out that states all sales are final. He even had the nerve of accusing me of detaching computer print-out.

He held it up & looked at it but I pointed out no staple marks. If informed of their no return policy, I wouldn't have considered buying there. I replied that the AMEX slip was my only receipt. He replied, "Just like when you buy a car. No refunds. You can use store credit for a TV." I said, "I don't want a TV. I want my old laptop back." He said, "I'm sorry to tell you this but we repaired someone's laptop with parts from yours." He offered to transfer my data for $300.00. I said, "No, you destroyed old laptop & are trying to charge $300.00? He said, Ok, $125.00." Then, 79.99 & that's lowest. I said, "No."

He finally gave me the data disk. I again repeated, Im returning the laptop.instead of honoring me as a person, he followed me outside to my car with the laptop. I followed him back in with the laptop & said, Im returning the laptop. He followed me back out the car & he tried to snatch the data disk. I said, Get off. Are you trying to hold my data as hostage? I reiterated, Im putting the laptop on the counter to return it & will work with AMEX on refund. Im still waiting for a refund and its been almost a week.
