My experience with California Computers is much like everyone else's experience. So there is a pattern here!
I recently purchased an HP 24" monitors and paid with PayPal. Shortly after, I got an email saying that my order had shipped and that I would receive the tracking number within a few days. I never got a tracking number and I let a week go by and did not receive the monitor. I wrote an email to CC and it was opened and read by "Lupe". This person did not return my email. I sent a second email which was also read by "Lupe" and also unanswered. I began to get nervous.
I searched out their phone number and had to make about 20 calls to them. Every call I made gave me the "Press 1... Press 2" runaround and every extension that I got through to would not be answered... It went to voice mail and none of my messages ever got returned. A lot of my calls resulted in me getting a voice mail saying that the mailbox is full. I just smelled scam!!!
The only way I could speak to a human was to press the number for SALES (they do answer their sales extension). Everyone that answered the sales line was sympathetic, but totally uncaring. Finally I was able to speak with a person named John. John admitted that they did not have the monitor in stock and gave me the option to cancel the order. I also had to go through the business of sending him an email cancelling my order. He promised me an immediate refund. IT NEVER HAPPENED! They take your order... Take your money... Do not ship... And then give you the dodge when you try to follow-up to try to get either the product or a refund.
After about six weeks trying to rectify this issue with CC, I was totally frustrated and gave up! I filed a complaint with Paypal and Paypal conducted their investigation and obtained a speedy refund for me.
I am so thankful for Paypal who can stand between us and crooks such as CC. E-commerce is a way of the future and all of the owners and employees of CC unfortunately will not play a part in it unless they clean up their act.
Here are four recent compaints all saying the same thing. If you choose to do business with CC, do say you weren't warned.incidentally, I replaced the order with PC Mall and had my monitor delivered in less than a week and at the same price.
I agree with the last compainant who said "This company is one of the worst I have ever dealt with and should be shut down". Do these guys a favor and hasten their demise by placing your order with a reputable company like PC Mall or Amazon.
