I bought a cable descrambler box January 03. Assured by universal it was legal. When it arrived I hooked it up and started to scan channels. A pornographic channel came on and my wife said either the box goes back or I leave. Called Universal for return policy 1-800-317-3318, never was able to get through, their answer box machine was full, I called at least 30 times in the next week or so. Never got thru, finally I decided to chalk it up and take the loss.
On 12/04/03 I received a letter from Cablevision Special Services in Wantagh, New York. They received information stating that I had purchased a decoder and they would give me a chance to come clean before they prosecute.
They would settle the claim for the sum of $3,500 and the return of the box.
In my heart I know that Universal sold the list of those who purchased this decoder box.
