Worst Customer Experience of My Life. - HP desktop compute

I have never in my entire life, recieved worse customer service than what I've recieved at " Best Buy ".

I bought an HP desktop computer with an extended warranty, after a harddrive failure I brought my computer in for repair. This problem was covered by my warranty, but "Best Buy" couldn't find my warranty! In-fact they suggested it did not exsist and that I was lying to them. After searching through various methods (my credit car number, name, phone number) and attemopting to call their corporate office I was denied the warranty I paid for.

Several months later I recieved a geek squad post card, warning me that I should pay to extend my warranty that would be expriring soon! (looks like someone knew I had one) I called the "geek squad" and told them, and then wow, just like magic, they found my warranty!

I proceeded to go to the store and deal with the "friendly staff". I was not greeted as I entered, though there were certainly enough employees standing up front chatting, as I wandered past the multiple stops at the customer service area, not one employee asked if I needed help. I haqd to ask where I should go! (I work in retail and I would have been fired for any of these offences) The employee talk to me like I was a moron, told me my computer would be fixed in a day and that I could leave. After 2-3 weeks I though, jeez maybe I should give them a call considering they told me it would only be 24 hours and I'd recieve a call. I called, they told me they'd been trying to reach me, but they had the wrong phone number. (I provided them with an e-mail address and a home address, I gues writing me would have been much to difficult for them.

They proceeded to tell me that I needed recovery discs for my computer in order to complete the repair, and I would have to purchase these disks. I can't understand that if they knew I needed a harddrive replacement (which they did because that is the work order I sighned) that tbhey wouldn't have know that immideiately and let me know the day I had dropped it off. I then got a letter in the mail saying that if I didn't pick up my computer they were going to throw it in the garbage. It's nice they couldnt send me that letter and not one about my repair. I called them this mroning and told them I would just be picking up my computer and didn't want it fixed by them at this point because I can't even get the discs in order to do it.

Now I have a desktop that does not work, and has a harddrive with no operating system on it, and I'll be starting back at college on Monday.

THANK YOU BEST BUY! For completely lying to me, and possibley hurting my education as well. I have never in my life had so much trouble trying to even complain about a store let alone get my problems fixed. How are you allowed to even operate in this country?
